How we count

Figures come from FTC Do Not Call complaint records plus reports sent to us directly by scam victims. Each complaint is counted in the state the person who reported it lives in. Monthly figures are estimates for numbers reported from more than one state. A state with few complaints is not a safe state, it can mean fewer people reported. Last refreshed 3 October 2026.
