Affiliate Disclosure
Honesty about how, if ever, this site might earn money from a link.
Last updated: July 2026
The Scam Exposed is a free educational resource. This page explains our policy on "affiliate links," so you always know where you stand.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a special link that pays a website a small commission if a visitor clicks it and later buys something, at no extra cost to the visitor. Many websites use these links to help cover their costs.
Our Current Policy
At this time, The Scam Exposed does not use affiliate links to earn money. Every outside link on this site, such as links to the FBI, the FTC, or your state Attorney General, is included only because we think it is genuinely useful, not because we are paid for it.
If This Ever Changes
If we ever do add affiliate links in the future, for example a link to a recommended identity-theft protection service, we will:
- Clearly label the link as an affiliate or sponsored link, near the link itself.
- Only recommend products or services we believe are genuinely helpful for scam prevention.
- Never let an affiliate relationship change our scam warnings, search results, or safety advice.
- Update this page to describe exactly what has changed.
We will never accept payment to remove, soften, or add a scam warning.
Federal Trade Commission Guidelines
If we do use affiliate links in the future, we intend to follow the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and disclosures at all times.
