Corrections Policy
Scams change fast, and so does our information. Here's what we do when something needs fixing.
Last updated: July 2026
We work hard to keep The Scam Exposed accurate, but mistakes can happen, and scam tactics change all the time. If something on our site is outdated, unclear, or wrong, we want to fix it.
How to Report a Possible Error
Please contact us through our Contact page and include:
- The web address (URL) of the page in question.
- What you believe is incorrect or outdated.
- Where possible, a source or link that supports the correction.
What Happens Next
- Our team reviews the report and compares it against official sources, such as the FBI, FTC, or CISA.
- If a correction is needed, we update the page as soon as possible.
- For significant corrections, we add a short note at the bottom of the article stating what was changed and when.
- We update the "Last updated" date shown on the page.
Minor vs. Significant Corrections
Small fixes, like typos or broken links, are corrected quietly. Corrections that change the meaning or safety guidance of an article are noted openly, because transparency matters most on a site about honesty and trust.
Our Commitment
We will never quietly change an article to hide a mistake, and we will never delete a correction request just because it is inconvenient. See our Fact-Checking Policy and Editorial Policy for more about how we keep our content trustworthy.
